Because you need to know.

Bank ratings for Washington State,
(Featuring Kitsap County Banks)

Your financial security starts at home. In the end the responsibility of being the last guy or (girl) left holding an empty money bag is you.

Your best offense is knowledge. The information that you really need to know is quite often hidden or expensive to come by. When it comes to knowing how well your bank, S&L, brokerage, insurance company is doing is important. But how many of you really know or care until your in trouble?

To this end we are focusing on the most important things first. In this case Banks, S&Ls and Trusts. The following table is focused on Washington State where this web site is originating. We have also highlighted important banks in Kitsap County and included detailed rating information in a link to a PDF file.

There are several rating services out there like Moodys. But it costs money we don't have. Moodys was caught in a scandal a while back by adjusting ratings if you bought more insurance. Another one is Bankrate, it provides a star rating between 1 and five, a lot like restaraunts. The one we chose as a source of information to pass on to you is provided by a Wallstreet firm known as The Street. We prefer the detail of their system and the way the information is organized. We have provided a selection of lending institutions relating to Washington in a table form, bank name and rating. For banks serving Kitsap county we have highlighted the banks and included a detailed file of their rating for ease of use. We will continue to add more banks as the information comes available.

We have grouped the tables by rating (A,B,C,D,U) in the column to the right ---->>>

If you wish to search other banks in the nation here is a link to...

Note that you can search for ratings on stocks, ETF's, funds, insurers as well as banks at this location.

Organized by the best banks first.

  • B RATING - These banks are in good shape in general.
  • C RATING - These banks are in moderate shape, they need to be watched for future decline.
